PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a hollow fiber membrane which has minute pores and in which the flowing state of a liquid flowing in a hollow fiber can be detected and, particularly, a liquid-impassable hollow fiber can be detected easily. SOLUTION: The hollow fiber membrane is manufactured so that this hollow fiber membrane has such characteristics that porosity is increased, surface smoothness is improved, thickness is reduced, the alignment of a polymer is improved, a variation in diameter of minute pores is made small and the thinned film is made to have wettability by subjecting it to hydrophilic treatment.
