PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair for forming an open space required for getting on/off by separating the specified part of each wheel through the use of a wheel separation mechanism when a user gets on/off to/from a seat section, and allowing the user, e.g. a patient, a physically disabled person, or an aged person to be cared, etc., to easily and smoothly perform getting on/off. SOLUTION: This wheelchair is equipped with: the seat section 2 and armrest sections 3 in a frame 1; the wheels 6 at both the right and left sides of the frame; and the wheel separation mechanism 7 for separating the specified part 6a of each wheel in order to form the opening space K required for getting on/off to/from the seat section.
