PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patient hanger surely recognizing that cords of a suspension device are latched to hooks of the hanger before lifting a care-receiver in need of care in a patient lift. SOLUTION: The patient lift is provided with a lifting device 11, a belt 12 wound and rewound by the lifting device, a hanger 13 connected to the belt, hooks 13a1, 13a2, 13b1 and 13b2 provided in the hanger 13 and latching the cords 14a, 14b, 15a and 15b of the suspension member, and a control device 100. The control device controls the lifting device to rewind the belt 12 for raising the hanger to which load is applied, and to stop once, when a predetermined tension is applied to the belt.
