PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction head for a vacuum cleaner which is not placed under a hermetic state even when the suction port is closed, and the vacuum cleaner. SOLUTION: This suction head for the vacuum cleaner is equipped with a suction head body 2 having a connecting port 7 on one end, and the suction port 3 on the other end side, and a brush body 5 having a brush 6 which is arranged or can be arranged in a vicinity of the suction port 3. Then, an auxiliary suction port 8 is provided between the suction port 3 and the connecting port 7. Even when the suction port 3 is closed by a surface to be cleaned or dust and dirt, air is taken in from the auxiliary suction port 8, a hermetic state is avoided, and burden to an electric blower can be reduced.
