The body to be created is formed with a defined geometry by lining up finitely small volume elements in all three spatial directions. Immediately after being discharged from a tool head containing material nozzles, these volume elements are bonded to all immediately adjacent volume elements, to form a fixed compound by chemical transformation e.g. hardening. A 3D-CAD data file is used as the geometric data for the body.
