A gear-shaping machine comprises a cutter spindle 106 reciprocable by hydraulic means in a sleeve 105 which can be adjusted vertically by means 108, 107 and also adjusted angularly by an eccentric bearing 112 and a worm 114 to tilt the spindle to compensate for cutting forces, to take up play, or to produce tapered gears. The cutter is relieved by a rod 130. An adjustable shaving attachment 115, Fig. 4 (not shown), may be fitted. |
