PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document editing method, an image processing apparatus and a document editing program which are suitable for editing a document including image data via a communication line. SOLUTION: The document editing method edits a document including image data stored in the image processing apparatus at a communication destination communicating with the image processing apparatus. The method has a document-related information providing step in which the document-related information about the document stored in the image processing apparatus is provided to the communication destination, an editing step in which editing is performed at the communication destination on the basis of the provided document-related information, and an editing reflecting step in which the editing performed at the communication destination is reflected to the document.
