PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding mechanism and an image forming device equipped with the paper feeding unit capable of manually feeding various sizes of a recording paper sheet in any complex type paper feeding unit, in a paper feeding mechanism formed by combining, in a plurality of stages, the complex type paper feeding units formed by integrating a mechanism section functioning as a paper feeding cassette and a mechanism section functioning as a manual tray. SOLUTION: This complex type paper feeding unit 5 is constituted by integrally unifying the mechanism section 6 functioning as the paper feeding cassette and the mechanism section 7 functioning as the manual tray. The paper feeding mechanism is constituted by piling the plurality of complex type paper feeding units 5, and is made extendable by folding the manual tray 71 provided on a manual feeding mechanism 7 of the respective complex type paper feeding unit 5.
