<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device for forming an image by saving a paper resource while maintaining satisfactory image quality. <P>SOLUTION: In a copying machine 1, an original size detecting part 8 detects the size of an original set in a reading part 4, the reading part 4 reads an image of the original and the read image is stored in an image storage part 7. In the copying machine 1, an image dividing part 9 divides image data of the image storage part 7 into two in a longitudinal direction, a paper feeding part 10 transports transfer paper corresponding to the size of the two-divided image to a writing part 5, and the writing part 5 forms an image of the first half part of the divided image on the transfer paper. The copying machine 1 executes saving mode processing in which a paper reversing part 11 reverses the front face and the rear face of the transfer paper with the image of the first half of the image formed thereon to transport the transfer paper to writing part 5 again and an image of the latter half part of the divided image is formed on the rear face of the transfer paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
