PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the temperature rising of a fixing unit when adjusting image forming conditions such as color smear correction.

SOLUTION: In the case of adjusting image forming conditions such as color smear correction, the color image forming apparatus is controlled so that a fixing roller 14 and a pressure roller 15 are driven at a printing speed as it is by driving the fixing drive part of a fixing unit 13.
