摘要	<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular steering control device and a control method capable of accurately exhibiting occupant restraint performance of an airbag device provided on a steering wheel. <P>SOLUTION: A pre-crash ECU11 determines whether a vehicle and a collision object collide or not by utilizing an input signal from sensors 12, 13, 14. If it is determined that they collide, a steer-by-wire ECU21 requests a reaction force actuator ECU22 to turn a steering wheel 41 to the expansion deployment position. When the steering wheel 41 is turned to the expansion deployment position, it requests an electric lock ECU23 to lock the steering wheel 41 at the expansion deployment position. The ECU21 requests an airbag ECU30 to deploy the airbag, and the ECU30 expands and deploys the airbag at the expansion deployment position of the steering wheel 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
