PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sodium-sulfur battery which can retain a gap between a solid electrolyte tube and a bulkhead (safety tube) constant and suppress the occurrence of a malfunction of the battery, and which is superior in safety in a current supply state after over-charge destruction. SOLUTION: A rotation preventing means to prevent the bulkhead 8 from rotating and moving is provided so that a relative position between the solid electrolyte tube 4 and the bulkhead 8 is not changed. The rotation preventing means locks a notched part 82 formed at the upper end of the bulkhead 8 with a leg 32 arranged on the anode cap 3 which is joined with the upper end face of an insulation ring 2 interposed between a cathode vessel 1 and the solid electrolyte tube 4.
