PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and an optical scanner that eliminates a color misalignment and a magnification difference in the main scanning direction of an image by measuring a partial magnification for each optical system mounted on the image forming device and correcting the magnification for every part. SOLUTION: A standalone measuring device measures a writing magnification for each area of an image in the main scanning direction on a photosensor 11 and computes an amount of correction. The amount of correction computed is stored in a register 24 or the like. During an image formation, a CPU 30 reads the amount of correction in the register 24. A pulse string generation section 21 generates a pulse based on the amount of correction and adjusts an image writing magnification in the main scanning direction of the photosensor 11.
