PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an "audio signal compressing device" that prevents the beginning of music which gradually increases in level from being lost in compressive encoding. SOLUTION: The audio signal compressing device which detects an audio signal level and compresses and outputs an audio signal above a set level detects an ending between pieces of music or the beginning of music, adds noise to the audio signal at the beginning of music to obtain a level above the set level, and compresses and outputs the audio signal to which the noise is added. The addition of the noise to the audio signal is stopped a set time after the beginning of the music or when the audio signal level reaches a 2nd set level larger than the set level.
