PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch element which is used in an optical switch for switching optical paths and which remarkably alleviates the severe accuracy requirements in working, positioning and angle required for a conventional optical element and a driving device, and which is constituted of a small number of components and consequently is low-cost, has low loss and high yield. SOLUTION: In the optical switch element, a reflection element which requires severe accuracy for positioning and angle is fixed, and an optical path parallel moving element which requires tempered accuracy for positioning and angle is movable. A state is formed in which the optical path parallel moving element is not located on the optical path and light advances straightly, and the fixed reflection element for changing the angle of the optical path and the movable optical path parallel moving element for moving the optical path in parallel to the the fixed reflection element and moving again the optical path of which the angle is changed with the fixed reflection element in parallel are formed, and the movable optical path parallel moving element is inserted into or retracted from the optical path by using a driving means.
