PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste heat recovery system capable of not only improving conversion efficiency from thermal energy to electric energy but also increasing total electric energy. SOLUTION: The waste heat recovery system 1 is provided with a thermoelectric module 2 and a pump 5 supplying a module cooling part 3 with cooling water. The thermoelectric module 2 is provided with a temperature sensor 7 measuring high temperature side temperature. The temperature sensor 7 outputs measured temperature to an ECU 6. The ECU 6 controls to drive the pump 5 when high temperature side temperature of the thermoelectric module 2 is a temperature to produce electric power consumed by the pump 5 or higher.
