PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side ditch having a structure including a relatively wide opening and using a cover section, capable of closely fixing firmly the cover to side ditch body although it is a concrete product. SOLUTION: The present side ditch is composed of a concrete side ditch body 1 and a cover section 2. The side ditch body is provided with a substantially rectangular or a substantially circular drainage channel 11 in the sectional shape, a water collecting groove 12 formed along the longitudinal direction, above the drainage channel, and a grooved opening 13 opening the upper part of the drainage channel along the water collecting groove. The cover is constituted to form a sectionally wide substantial wedge shape in the upper part wider than the opening width of the opening and the lower part loosely fitted to the opening part.
