PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pile head structure with a relatively compact structure, having high reliability in stress transfer and excellent in workability and to provide a joint metal fitting. SOLUTION: A plurality of the joint metal fittings 2 are provided in the circumferential direction of the upper end section of a pile steel pipe 1 at regular intervals, each pile head reinforcing bar 11 can be fixed only by inserting one end of the pile head reinforcing bar 11 into each joint metal fitting 2. The joint metal fitting 2 is equipped with a sleeve-like outline object 3 having an opening section 3a for inserting the end section of the pile head reinforcing bar 11, a plurality of wedges 5 stored inside thereof and a coil spring 7 urging the wedges 5 to the opening section 3a side. The increase of an outside dimension of the outline object can be controlled by providing two stages of tapers to a part abutting the inner circumferential surface of the outline object 3 on the outer circumferential surface of each wedge 5. Irregularities 5a and 12 engaged with each other are provided to the inner circumferential surface of the wedge 5 and the outer circumferential surface of the end section of the pile head reinforcing bar 11, and a mechanical engagement relation is added to make sure of the support of the end section of the pile head reinforcing bar 11 by the wedge 5.
