PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hanging metal piece capable of hanging up a long stretching material safely and certainly in the plumb condition. SOLUTION: The hanging metal piece and device for the long stretching material has an upper engaging plate and a lower engaging plate, which are provided at the surfaces with engaging holes shaped approximately similar to and greater than the outside shape of the cross-section of the long stretching material to be hung up so as to be engaged with the peripheral surface of the long stretching material, wherein the engaging plates are coupled together rotatably at their rear ends directly or through a link in such an arrangement that the nip angle of the two plates is made adjustable, opened or closed, and a hang-up cable is coupled with two points mating with each other on an extension line to the oversurface of the upper plate from a left-right straight line passing the center of gravity on the cross-section of the long stretching material in the condition that the engaging hole in the upper plate is engaged with the peripheral surface of the long stretching material.
