PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water jet propulsion device whereby an impeller in a propulsion water passage and a suction port side can be easily inspected. SOLUTION: In this water jet propulsion device, the impeller 14 is installed in the propulsion water passage 10 in a hull, an impeller drive shaft 23 is driven and the impeller 14 is rotated, and the water in the propulsion water passage 10 sucked from a suction port 19 is delivered from an outlet port 29 through a nozzle 16 arranged on a downstream side of the impeller 14 so that propulsion force is achieved. Cylindrical inspection ports 40 and 50 through which the inside of the propulsion water passage 10 can be seen are provided on an upper wall surface of the propulsion water passage 10 between the impeller 14 and the suction port 19. The inspection port 40 is tilted to face the impeller 14 side, the inspection port 50 is tilted to face a strainer 21 on the suction port 19 side, and pairs of the inspection ports 40 and 50 are provided in parallel along the circumferential direction of the propulsion water passage 10.
