PTC ELEMENT AND FLUORESCENT LAMP STARTER CIRCUIT

There is provided a PTC element having a novel structure appropriate for use in a fluorescent lamp starter circuit. A polymer PTC element (10) includes sheet-shaped main body (1) made of a polymer PTC material and first and second electrodes (first electrodes 3a, 3b and second electrodes 4a, 4b) formed on the surface of the sheet-shaped main body (1), such as on the same sheet surface, at an interval. A gap is provided between the inner walls of through holes (7a, 7b) and terminals (5a, 5b) as a space for at least partially crossing the sheet-shaped main body (1) in the thickness direction.
