GROWTH FACTOR-LIKE PROTEIN DERIVED FROM SNAKE VENOM HAVING SPECIFIC BINDING PROPERTY TO VASCULAR ENDOTHELIAL GROWTH FACTOR RECEPTOR 2

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a newly isolated VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor)-like protein having specific binding properties to a vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 [KDR (kinase insert domain-containing receptor)], without exhibiting the binding properties to a vascular growth factor receptor 1 [Flt-1 (fms-like tyrosine kinase-1)] and an excellent hypotensive activity.

SOLUTION: The VEGF-like protein vammin is isolated as the VEGF-like protein having the specific binding properties to the KDR without exhibiting the binding properties to the Flt-1 and having the excellent hypotensive activity is isolated from a snake venom of Vipera ammodytes ammodytes. The VEGF-like protein VR-1 isolated from the snake venom of Daboia russelli russelli is newly purified and isolated and the amino acid sequence thereof is elucidated.
