PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent short circuit between both terminals even when an electrolyte is penetrated into a recessed part in the case where a state judging device is housed in the recessed part of a storage battery, a filler is filled in the recessed part, and the state judging device is fixed to the recessed part. SOLUTION: In the storage battery in which a bushing terminal to be casted inside a cover, a connecting conductor projecting from the bushing terminal are casted in the cover 2, the other end of the connecting conductor is exposed to a cover recessed part 5, the state judging device 6 housed in the recessed part is connected to the other end of the exposed connecting conductor, the filler is filled in the recessed part, and the state judging device is fixed to the recessed part, a recessed groove 7 crossing across the bottom surface is formed on the bottom surface of the recessed part formed on a cover upper surface. By this constitution, the filler is surely let to exist in the state judging device and on the bottom surface of the recessed part, and even if the electrolyte is penetrated into the recessed part, the electrolyte is interrupted, and short circuit between both terminals is prevented.
