摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic range-finding camera device disusing an infrared ray or ultrasonic wave receiving/transmitting device and capable of instantaneously outputting information on a distance to a subject without using the fine vibration mechanism of a focus lens group. SOLUTION: The camera device is equipped with a high-band component extraction part to extract the high-band frequency component of a video signal obtained from an optionally set focusing detection area within the image plane of one frame photoelectrically converted in imaging devices attached so that two of them exist at a front focus position and a rear focus position when one of them exists at the focal position of an imaging lens equipped with a focus driving means and an output means for outputting the information on the distance to the subject, and a level difference processing part to calculate a level difference between the high-band frequency components obtained from the focusing detection areas of the two imaging devices and repeatedly perform the increase/decrease of the driving voltage of the focus driving means until the level difference becomes zero or a preset threshold based on the level difference on the emitting surface of a spectral optical system to branch an optical image picked up by the imaging lens to three directions.
