PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger capable of discharging a secondary battery, while incorporating it in an electronic apparatus in which reduction in size and cost of the electronic apparatus is realized. SOLUTION: In the charger, comprising a constant current circuit 13 for charging a secondary battery 21 and a circuit 14 for discharging the secondary battery and capable of charging/discharging the secondary battery 21 under a state of being incorporated in an electronic apparatus 2, a charge/discharge control signal terminal 26c consisting of one terminal is provided. When a sinal which is inputted to the charge/discharge control signal terminal 26c is in a first state, the constant-current circuit 13 enters operating state and the discharge circuit 14 enters non-operating state. When that signal is in a second state, the charging circuit 13 enters non-operating state and the discharge circuit 14 goes to operating state. Furthermore, when that sinal is in a third state, both the charging circuit 13 and the discharge circuit 14 go to non-operating state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
