PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which is hardly cracked and can provide good images even during recycling of a photoreceptor drum and its peripheral members and even when the photoreceptor is used in a liquid developing process. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer containing a charge generation material and a charge transport material on a conductive substrate. The photosensitive layer contains, as a resin binder, a polyarylate resin composed of a structural unit expressed by general formula (1) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each H, alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl, or may form a cyclic structure together with the carbon atoms to which these groups are bonded, and the cyclic structure may be bonded with one or two arylene groups; R<SP>3</SP>to R<SP>10</SP>are each H, alkyl, F, Cl or Br; and m and n satisfy 0.5<m/(m+n)<0.7).
