PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve certainty of a feeding action by preventing a recorded material from accidentally entering an entry opening without significantly changing an existing structure. SOLUTION: This automatic feeding device 1 rotates a feeding roller 14 with a D-shape seen from a side face by a predetermined angle when a recorded material P is put on a feeding tray, when the feeding action is started, or when a power source is turned on and off, so as to adopt a first stand-by position with narrowed height of the entry opening 32 of the recorded material P formed below the feeding roller 14. When the feeding action of the first recorded material P is finished and the feeding actions of the following recorded materials P are performed, the automatic feeding device 1 is designed to adopt a second stand-by position where the height is not restrained.
