PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for filling up molten metal and a casting apparatus with which the mixture of oxidized film into a mold can effectively be avoided. SOLUTION: In the casting apparatus, a molten metal holding furnace 3 which can tightly close and hold the molten metal, a mold 4 arranged at out of the molten metal holding furnace, a molten metal supplying tube 5 which inserts the end part into the molten metal and can tightly connect with a molten metal pouring hole 4a at the other end part, and an inert gas introducing mechanism 8 for impressing gas pressure onto the molten metal surface by introducing the inert gas into the molten metal holding furnace, are provided. Further, in the casting apparatus for filling up the molten metal K into the mold through the molten metal supplying tube by applying the gas pressure with the inert gas onto the molten metal surface in the molten metal holding furnace tightly closed and held, a tightly closing vessel 9, with which the circumference of the mold and the circumference of tightly connecting portion between a molten metal pouring hole and the tip part of the molten metal supplying tube are held to the inert gas atmosphere, is arranged and also, a nozzle 20 for breaking the oxidized film existing in the molten metal or on the molten metal surface. The tip opening hole of the nozzle is formed as a slit-shape having a prescribed width for breaking the oxidized film existing in the molten metal or the molten metal surface.
