Disclosed is a preform (10) that is used for producing a container (44) made of a thermoplastic material and a corresponding container comprising one respective orifice area (12), a cylindrical neck area (14) that adjoins the orifice area (12) in the direction of a longitudinal axis (X), and a bowl-shaped elongate area (16) which can be widened during the production of the container (44). The orifice area (12) is surrounded by at least one circumferential closed pressed-on lip (24) which extends in a radial direction relative to the longitudinal axis (X). The neck area (14) has a smaller wall thickness (d2) than the elongate area (16) in a zone which lies close to said elongate area (16). The invention also relates to a device for closing said container.
