<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of performing a data transfer processing to a printer more efficiently by appropriately determining the compression/non-compression of transfer data to the printer device in accordance with a function. <P>SOLUTION: The image reader 1, which is provided with a transfer means for transferring print data to a printer 17, is provided with: a compression rate table 16 storing the compression rate of image data to be transferred by associating with functions available for copy processing; and a control means 21 which compresses print data to be transferred to the printer 17 in accordance with a compression rate associated with a designated function for copy processing by the compression rate table 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
