<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram recording material which is applicable to a high density optical recording medium, a three-dimensional display, a holographic optical element, etc. and in which reconcilement between high sensitivity, high diffraction efficiency, good storage stability and adaptivity to dry processing are realized, and to provide a hologram recording method. <P>SOLUTION: In the hologram recording method, a change in the orientation of a compound having an intrinsic index of double refraction is caused by hologram exposure and the orientation is fixed as it is by a chemical reaction, whereby recording is performed as refractive index modulation by an unrewritable system. The hologram recording material comprises at least a low molecular liquid-crystalline compound having a polymerizable group, a photoreactive compound and a polymerization initiator and employs an unrewritable system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
