FALSE DIAL CONTROL METHOD, SYSTEM, AND PROGRAM FOR CONTROLLING WIDE-RANGE VARIABLE AMOUNT OF DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To combine a slide operation and a rotation operation to input wide-range numerical values in a method of operating a false dial in a picture when inputting the variable amount of data for processing in a computer by using a coordinate input device like a mouse.

SOLUTION: When the false dial displayed in the picture on the computer is operated by coordinate data from the coordinate input device, a slide mode of directly utilizing displacement of of coordinates as the variable amount of data and a rotation mode of detecting that a locus of coordinates describes a circular arc and utilizing the length of the locus as the variable amount of data are set. Thus change by a larger value is made possible, and natural operability is provided by smoothly switching these modes.
