PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform observation and discrimination of an image smoothly and instantly by enabling discrimination of printed matter instantly even at an unstable place inside an automobile without limiting a place of discrimination and enabling separation of an image reception part from an image display part even when an object to be discriminated is in a place remote from an observer. SOLUTION: The unit comprises the image reception part provided with an image receiver for receiving the printed matter and a light irradiation device, and an implementation for transmitting a signal to the image display part for displaying image information on the printed matter received at the image reception part. The light irradiation device in the image reception part is provided with a function to select the kind of light source for irradiating at least one of a visible light, an infrared light, or an ultraviolet light and to adjust the amount of irradiation. The image receiver is provided with a filter for eliminating at least one of the visible light, the infrared light, or the ultraviolet light.
