PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-dimensional lens array that can increase the transmissivity of the base glass material of the lens array and that can be accurately manufactured, with a simple and inexpensive process, using glass materials of various purposes, and also to provide the manufacturing method of this two-dimensional lens array. SOLUTION: In the two-dimensional lens array having convex lenses two-dimensionally arrayed on a flat substrate, there are provided grooves prepared on the flat substrate, a planar part sectioned by the grooves and arrayed two-dimensionally, quartz glass of the lens material installed on the planar substrate in a manner burying the planar part and at least a part of the grooves surrounding the planar part, and a convex curved face arranged on the surface of the quartz glass from the planar part over to the grooves.
