PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary damper capable of preventing the leakage of the noise caused by the air mixed in housings to the outside of the housings by absorbing the noise caused by the air mixed in the housings by a noise absorbing part in assembling. SOLUTION: In this rotary damper D composed of housings 11, 41, the silicone oil 21 accommodated in the housings 11, 41, a rotor 31 mounted in the housings 11, 41 and provided with a resistance part 36 moved in the silicone oil 21 in the housings 11, 41 on its shaft part 32 partially projected from the housings 11, 41, and an O-ring 51 for preventing the leakage of the silicone oil 21 from between the shaft part 32 and the housing 41, a projecting and recessed part 13a is integrally formed on an inner face of the housing 11.
