PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper holder that can always draw paper smoothly with small resistance and in which the paper can be cut at a specific length after being sufficiently drawn out. SOLUTION: A main body 11 that can contain a rolled paper 1 is composed of a U-shape receptacle 11a and a side plate 11b on either side. A concave section 12 is formed on the front side of the receptacle 11a for guiding the drawing of paper, a position-free cutting operation body 17 is provided in front of the concave section 12 on the side of the main body 11 in a way that it can be moved upward and downward freely, and a cutting section 17d is formed on the upward section of the cutting operation body 17. The rolled paper set inside the main body can be held by its end and always drawn out smoothly with small resistance without coming into contact with the cutting section due to the cutting operation body moving downward and opening the front side of the concave section. After the paper is drawn out the cutting operation body is moved upwards to the front of the concave section and the cutting section is held upward abut against the back side of the paper and a pulling force downward and in the lateral direction is applied to the paper so that the paper can be cut along the cutting section.
