SELF EMULSIFYING DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS FOR HYDROPHOBIC THERAPEUTIC COMPOUNDS
摘要

A novel self-emulsifying drug delivery system (SEDDS) useful for the administration of a water-insoluble drug such as a 2,6 -di-alkyl-4-silyl-phenglic antioxidant to a patient is disclosed. The SEDDS comprises a hydrophilic surfactant with hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) value greater than 10, a digestible oil comprised of medium chain fatty acids esters of propylene glycol, and a non-aqueous protic solvent. Optionally, a soluble chelating agent and antioxidant may be added to enhance the stability of the phenolic antioxidant drug.
