GLYCOPROTEIN AND/OR GLYCOMACROPEPTIDE CONTAINING PREPARATIONS FOR MEDICAL USES

The present invention relates to preparations for use in the treatment of certain medical conditions involving non keratinized tissues. More specifically, this invention relates to preparations containing at least one of a glycoprotein and/or a glycomacropeptide. The preparations disclosed can be utilized to treat certain medical conditions such as wound and mucosal surface disorders, and to assist and enhance the normal wound healing process. Furthermore, the disclosed preparations are particularly well suited in the treatment of conditions involving compromised mucusal surfaces, such as those found in the eye, nose, mouth, vagina and rectum. The compositions of this invention are also well suited to enhance the application and delivery of drugs at such surfaces.
