<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of forming high quality image with a simple configuration when making an appropriate discrimination of attributes over a wide region of image data. <P>SOLUTION: A first luminance signal for each pixel of a color multilevel image is inputted from a document reading section 101, the first luminance signal is multiplied by a coefficient, and a second luminance signal is operated in a coefficient multiplication section 106. On the basis of the second luminance signal, the color attributes of a marked pixel are discriminated at a pixel attribute judging section 102, and a main control section 103 counts arrangement attributes being discriminated according to the arrangement of the color attributes for 32 lines in a block obtained by dividing a band of 64 lines into eight in the color multilevel image in the main scanning direction and then counts the discriminated color attributes. Based on the count of the color multilevel image, parameters indicative of its image feature are calculated for the relevant block, image attributes of the block are discriminated depending on the count and the calculated parameters and, then the image attributes of the band are discriminated based on the discrimination results. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
