<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint verification system capable of obtaining clear fingerprint images by improving the excessive dryness and excessive wetness of fingers. <P>SOLUTION: The fingerprint verification system is provided with: a fingerprint sensor 1 for detecting the fingerprint image of the finger abutted to a fingerprint sampling surface 1b and outputting fingerprint image data; an image data processing part 2 for processing the outputted fingerprint image data and extracting feature point data; a fingerprint data registration part 4 in which a plurality of pieces of fingerprint data are registered beforehand; a verification processing part 3 for verifying the extracted feature point data and the fingerprint data registered in the fingerprint data registration part 4; and a verification result display part 5 for displaying a verification result. The fingerprint verification system is further provided with a humidity sensor 7 arranged near the fingerprint sampling surface 1b for detecting humidity and a humidity control part 6 for humidifying or dehumidifying air around the fingerprint sensor corresponding to the detection result of the humidity sensor 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
