PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the primary characteristics of a golf ball with a standardized thickness of core layers.
SOLUTION: This golf ball comprises at least three core layers and one cover with dimples. The core may include three layers A, B and C, four layers A, B, C and D, five layers A, B, C, D and E or six layers A, B, C, D, E and F at its maximum. The radius or the thickness of each layer are made to more than doubles at least the outer layer adjacent thereto. One outer core layer serves as a steam barrier layer to eliminate the infiltration of the steam into the ball, thereby preventing the degrading of the characteristics of the ball due to the infiltration of the steam. Other outer core layers are made as thin high-density layers with a larger specific weight to increase the inertial moment of the rotation, thereby reducing the spin in the flight. Other outer core layers may be made as hollowed ball shells to increase the elasticity and the coefficient of resilience. Other outer core layers are made as cushion layers to be used as impact absorbing members.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
|
