PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of suppressing an error in contact force due to an assembly error even when the span of a layer thickness restricting member is shortened according as the developing device is made small-sized by improving a 2nd layer thickness restricting member to secure an installation space for the 2nd layer thickness restricting member nearby an installation space for a 1st layer thickness restricting member. SOLUTION: The developing device is equipped with the 1st layer thickness restricting member 13 which restricts the layer thickness of toner held on the surface of a developing roller 12 and a 2nd layer thickness restricting member 14 which is provided downstream from the 1st layer thickness restricting member 13 in the rotating direction of the developing roller and electrifies a toner image on the surface of the developing roller 12 whose layer thickness is restricted. The 2nd layer thickness restricting member is bent at its halfway part to bring the tip whose base end is fixed into contact with the developing roller, and the bending angleθof the tip-side part 14b to the extension line (g) of the base-end side part 14a of the 2nd layer thickness restricting member is so set as to satisfy 30°≤θ≤60°.
