PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent chipping or burr from being caused in cutting a thin large-sized lens sheet used for a back projection type screen to prescribed dimension. SOLUTION: The router bit 11 of a router device 10 is linearly moved from the upper side to the lower side of the lens sheet on a work table 2 so as to cut the lens sheet from an upper end face to a lower end face by the side surface of the router bit. Unlike a rotary saw edge, cutting stress in a perpendicular direction is not applied to the thin lens sheet, so that the chipping or the burr is not caused on the lens sheet, and a cut surface is smoothly finished, and consequently high finishing quality is obtained. Besides, unlike cutting with a laser cutting machine, chips are melted and do not adhere to the surface of the sheet. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
