PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten dispersion stability of pigment particles in a dispersion liquid for an electrophoretic display, to prevent hard cake formation and to realize a high contrast display. SOLUTION: The dispersion liquid for the electrophoretic display contains a electric insulation solvent, a pigment and a dispersing agent. The dispersing agent is a dispersing agent with 20% or higher reflectance and four or higher contrast ratio in an electrophoretic test and further the dispersion liquid contains an acrylic polymer. The particles for the electrophoretic display comprise the dispersion liquid sealed in microcapsules.
