PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle, adapted to condition the air in a cabin using a non-contact temperature sensor for detecting the surface temperature of an occupant in a non-contact state, and restraining incorrect control of the air temperature in the cabin. SOLUTION: This air conditioner for a vehicle includes the non-contact temperature sensor for detecting the surface temperature of the skin of the face of an occupant in the cabin in a non-contact state, an air conditioning unit for a rear seat for adjusting the temperature of the air and blowing off the same to the air conditioning zone in the cabin, and an air conditioning ECU 8 for controlling the air conditioning unit for a rear seat, adjusting the temperature of the air blown off to the air conditioning zone 1c in the cabin according to the surface temperature of the skin detected by the non-contact temperature sensor. The air conditioning ECU 8 inhibits the occupant skin temperature from being contributed to calculation of target blowoff temperature AORrDr during a predetermined period of time since the occupant is determined to ride in the cabin (S230), so even if the occupant rides in the cabin with sweat on the skin, incorrect control of the temperature of the air blown off to the inside of the cabin can be restrained.
