PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ameliorate the animation image unsharpness of a hold type display device without lowering the luminance of the animation image. SOLUTION: A signal input section 11 inputs various signals. The R signal inputted by an R signal input section 23 is supplied to an adder 13-1. The G signal inputted by a G signal input section 23 is supplied to an adder 13-2. The B signal inputted by a B signal input section 25 is supplied to an adder 13-3. The signals are also supplied by a signal generating section 12 to the adders 13-1 to 13-3. The signal generating section 12 generates the signal by which the luminance value of a prescribed level is repeated. The adders 13-1 to 13-3 add the respectively inputted two signals and supply the eventually generated signal to a display part 31.
