METHOD FOR CONTROLLING BRIGHT ANNEALING FURNACE

A method for controlling a bright annealing furnace, which comprises reducing the partial pressure of steam in the atmosphere of the inside of the bright annealing furnace, in which a boron oxide is formed, to a level lower than 1 X 10<-5>, through lowering the dew point of the atmosphere of the inside of said furnace. The dew point can be lowered by introducing a gas containing a hydrocarbon into the bright annealing furnace, or adding a compound containing carbon to the atmosphere in the bright annealing furnace. The method for controlling a bright annealing furnace allows the inhibition of the formation of a white powder in the furnace.
