When a driver's request is input or a signal is provided for setting or changing a driving state, the driving engine is controlled to provide the appropriate power to the wheels. At the moment at which the control of the driving engine begins, or within a short time offset, the power input to a hydrodynamic clutch is controlled, based on the load at the power take-off. An independent claim is included for a control system for the starting process of a motor vehicle.
