<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator enhancing safety at operation treatment. <P>SOLUTION: In an inflator 52a, squibb 523 is ignited based on an impact signal inputted through a lead wire 528 and a firing agent 524 is fired by the ignition. A gas generating agent filled in a combustion chamber 526 through a passing hole 529 receives heat of the firing agent 524 and is burned to generate a gas of high temperature and high pressure. The gas of high temperature and high pressure gas is passed through a filter 527 while cooling and eliminating the burned residue and is jetted from a plurality of jet holes 522 provided on a periphery of a housing 521 to be capable of expanding an air bag 51a. An outer surface of the housing 521 at a part for storing the gas generating agent 525 is coated with an operation state discrimination coating 70 for discriminating the operation state whether or not the inflator 52a is non-operated or operated. Color of the operation state discrimination coating 70 is irreversibly changed from white to red by the heat generated by the operation when the inflator 52a is operated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
