<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique capable of preventing fusion due to excess temperature rise at a particulate filter under low pressure. <P>SOLUTION: In this exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine, in a case where quantity of particulates collected by the particulate filter becomes limit deposition quantity or more, an oxidation eliminating means to conduct oxidation elimination of particulates collected by the particulate filter sets the value of the limit deposition quantity to be smaller as the atmospheric pressure detected by an atmospheric pressure detecting means is lower. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
